It turns out that what he does is much harder than it looks. As all of those Tarantino wannabes were to \u201cPulp Fiction,\u201d Neil Marshall\u2019s \u201cDuchess\u201d is to the work of Guy Ritchie, particularly \u201cLock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels,\u201d the filmmaker’s international breakthrough. Incongruent needle drops, freeze frames with character names, overheated narration, and tough\u00a0tales of interconnected criminals \u2013 \u201cDuchess\u201d wants SO badly to be a Ritchie film that he almost deserves co-writing credit on the project.
